Thermoformed black glass plate, where each color is carefully hand-cut and layered to create a unique floral pattern. At a temperature of 1500 degrees F, the pieces fuse harmoniously, creating a piece as remarkable as it is delicate.

 

After cooling, each plate is meticulously sanded to ensure a smooth, pleasant-to-the-touch finish. Next, the fused round plate is delicately placed on a mold of the final shape for a second firing at around 1400 degrees F, guaranteeing its solidity and definitive shape.

 

Each plate is a unique piece, signed with my name, like a jewel for your table.

Some colors of thermoformed glass are not guaranteed for food use. I will provide specific information on each piece’s food safety so you can use them with confidence.

Strong and Repairable

I use the thermoforming glass technique, with each piece made up of multiple layers of glass, making it very durable. Additionally, this method allows for damaged pieces to be repaired. Everything at MÉLA is guaranteed, including repairs for your silver jewelry.

100% Material Utilization

The raw materials—glass and 925 silver—are transformed on-site in my Quebec workshop, with no waste. Leftover glass is used to create new pieces.
